With the warmer temperatures that have arrived this summer, there are many people who enjoy taking out their bicycle instead of their car. When ridden properly, bikes can join vehicles on the road. If you're someone in a car, you'll want to pay close attention so that you keep these bicyclists safe. Here are some tips:
  • Be aware of the road around you. This is something you should already be doing, but it can be hard to spot someone on a bike if you're not paying close enough attention.
  • You have to yield to people on their bikes just like another vehicle.
  • If you are passing alongside a bicyclist, you have to leave 4 feet between the two of you.
  • Children on bikes should be safely riding off the road, but keep an eye out for them in case they miss a stop sign or fall of their bike.
